My friend let me borrow “American Hardcore: A Tribal History” by Steven Blush not too long ago and getting towards the New York Hardcore chapters the Beastie Boys were mentioned, although they came from a background with money they were intrigued by that punk scene which involved middle class kids who came from more impoverished homes, they were second rate at best but once they started making hip hop they embraced that punk mentality and had become what they are now. Adam Yauch may you rest in peace.
